Ephesians 4: 30-32
August 9th 2026, Second Lord’s Day of the Month
Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor
Today’s passage also teaches us how we, renewed ones, ought to walk in the church.
The first is not to grieve the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, who dwells within the saved, encourages and guides us so that we walk according to the Lord’s will. However, He is grieved when we walk in ways contrary to His will. It is important for us to strive to live in a manner that does not grieve the Holy Spirit.
The second is to cast off evil. We are told to put away all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, slander, and malice. Harboring these things destroys the unity of the church; we need to cast them all aside.
The third is to be kind to one another and forgive one another. This is precisely what Jesus did for us. The Lord has shown us kindness through His immeasurable love, and forgiven our sins.
Let us be led by the Holy Spirit and cast off evil, as the examples of Jesus, and walk in kindness and forgiveness one another!
<Word of the Bible>
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
