Exodus 16:1-21

Today is “CS Coming Day”. The LORD rained manna and fed the people of Israel as they journeyed through the wilderness. This pointed toward the coming of Jesus and taught them that they were sustained by the Word of God.
First, the manna did not become their nourishment unless they received and ate it. The LORD commanded them to gather and take it. Likewise, today we need to voluntarily read, hear, and accept the LORD’s Word.
Second, they could not live the day on previous day’s manna; they needed to gather and eat it day by day. While past experiences of faith are blessings, we should not rely solely on them; it is important to read and obey the Word each day.
Third, manna is to teach them to trust and obey the LORD. It was not merely to fill their stomachs; but was a test whether they would believe and obey His Word. It is also vital for us to trust in the LORD and His Word, and to follow Him.
Let us feel hunger and thirst each day, receive the Word, and walk in obedience!
