Ephesians 4: 14-16
July 19th 2026, Third Lord’s Day of the Month
Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor
This passage tells how we ought to walk as those who have received the grace of the Lord.
First, we are to become mature ones, no longer carried about by every wind of doctrine. We are easily swayed by the words of people, by the voices of this world, and even by the words of Satan. To avoid being carried away, we must walk rooted in the Word of the Lord.
Second, we are to live the truth in love and become more like Christ. Both love and truth are essential. Just as the Lord leads us with love and truth, we are also guided by love and truth toward one another, becoming like Christ.
Third, we are to use the gifts that we have received and become those who build up the church in love. Just as the human body is made up of many organs, so the church is formed by brothers and sisters who serve as its various parts. As we are joined and held together, each part working according to the measure given to it, the church is built up in love.
The Lord loves us, and has His gracious purpose for us. Let us offer ourselves to Him, that He may use us to build up the church of Christ!
<Word of the Bible>
from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
Ephesians 4:16 (English Standard Version)
