John 4: 24
June 7th 2026, First Lord’s Day of the Month
Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor

Offering worship to God is a great blessing. But what is worship?

First, worship is to offer to God. We bring heartfelt praise, offerings, and prayers before Him. It is the same when we listen to the message. It is not to merely receive teaching; it is a moment to respond to God’s Word and to offer ourselves to Him.

Second, worship is to give glory to God. We are sinners who deserved God’s judgment and eternal suffering in hell. Yet by God’s love and mercy, the precious price of Christ’s life was paid, and we have been redeemed. Therefore, through worship, we are required to return glory to the Lord.

Third, worship is the center of the Christian life. For those who have been made children of God, worship should be the core of our daily living. If something else becomes the center, our spiritual condition is not right, and the result will be an unfortunate walk.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, there were times when we could not gather together. Through that experience, we came to realize how great blessing it is to gather at our church on each Lord’s Day and offer worship. Let us not take every single Lord’s Day for granted, but give thanks to the Lord and keep giving our heartfelt worship to Him!

<The Word of the Bible>
24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
