Psalm 96: 4
October 25th 2026, Fourth Lord’s Day of the Month
Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor
The Fall Praise Concert is held today. Many music of praises are offered to the Lord. Let us take this opportunity to reflect once again on what it is to praise God.
First, praise is an act of worship toward God. If the focus of our praise lies on our own pleasure, it is no different from the music of this world. While praise is joy for us saved ones, we need to remember that it is an act of worship offered to God.
Second, praise is to exalt God’s name. The object of praise is the holy God Himself. Therefore, the spotlight is not on the individuals or the musicians; but we exalt the wonderful works and the very nature of the Lord who loves us and has saved us. All the glories should belong to Him.
Third, praise is a testimony of our faith to God. Through praise, we bear witness how much the Lord should be exalted, how much we believe in Him. The faith of a church is reflected in the praise it offers.
The Lord delights the praises that exalt Him from the heart. Let us, both music praising ones and listening ones, exalt the Lord, uniting our hearts. When we are gathering in church or alone by ourselves, let us continue to praise the Lord from our hearts as we walk through life!
<Word of the Bible>
4 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods.
