John 14: 27
September 21st Third Holy Day of the Month
 Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor

Things of this world also give people peace of mind, but they are changeable and easily lost. Jesus said He gives a different kind of peace.

First, it is the peace that comes from reconciliation with God. All people have sin and are subject to God's wrathful judgment. However, those who believe in Christ and are saved have their sins forgiven, are reconciled with God, and are granted a peaceful relationship with Him.

Second, it is the peace that shines through trials. The peace this world gives is the kind that is given when there are no problems, but the peace the Lord gives is a peace that remains unchanged even in trials.

Third, it is the peace that guards our hearts. When we bring our requests to the Lord with gratitude, He guards our hearts and gives us peace.

Fourth, it is the peace given by the Lord who knows tomorrow. People become anxious when they cannot see ahead. But the Lord, who knows all our tomorrows, is with us. It is the peace He gives us.

The Lord has left this peace with us. He wants His children taste this peace as they walk. Let us not waste this peace, but walk each day, cherishing it in our hearts!

<The Word of the Bible>
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
John 14: 27 (English Standard Version)
