Acts 9: 26-31
June 15 2025, Third Holy Day of the Month
Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor
Let us learn from how Barnabas walked his life.
First, he accepted others kindly. He accepted Saul, once a persecutor of Christians, and came to understand him and took him into the company of thedisciples. Without Barnabas, there would have been no later Paul. It isimportant also for us to be kind/patient and accept others.
Second, he did not forsake those who failed. Paul did not want to take Mark to the second mission journey, because he had given up and returned halfway through the first mission journey. But Barnabas took him in, and walked with him. We should not forsake those who failed, either.
Third, he raised others with love. As his name Barnabas (son of consolation) implies, he comforted, encouraged and nurtured Mark. So, Mark later grew up spiritually and was changed to a useful one.
Although Barnabas did not do a remarkable work, he did wonderful works. We need ones like Barnabas in our church and homes. Let us be changed like Barnabas and become the ones who nurture others.
<The Word of the Bible>
But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and declared to them how on the road he had seen the Lord, who spoke to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.
