Ephesians 3: 10-13
May 24th 2026, Fourth Lord’s Day of the Month
Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor
Although Paul was imprisoned at this time, in the midst of his suffering he asked the believers in Ephesus not to lose heart. Even in suffering, there was something he firmly believed.
First, God’s wisdom is being made known through the church. Though the church has weaknesses and shortcomings, let us remember that through the church the manifold wisdom of God is being displayed to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.
Second, the way to draw near to God has been opened. In the midst of
suffering, the way to God may seem distant. Yet in Christ, we are able to approach the throne of grace with boldness/confidence.
Third, God is carrying out His plan. Paul’s imprisonment may have seemed as though the work of the gospel had been hindered and brought to a halt, but that was not the case. God was using even that situation for good and accomplishing His purposes through it.
Therefore, let us not lose heart in times of suffering. Rather, in such times, let us draw near to the throne of the Lord!
<聖書のことば>
ですから、私があなたがたのために苦難にあっていることで、落胆することのないようお願いします。私が受けている苦難は、あなたがたの栄光なのです。
