Ephesians 2: 1-5
February 22nd 2026, Fourth Lord’s Day of the Month
 Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor

It describes our former way of life, God's intervention, and the subsequent outcome.

Firstly, we were once spiritually dead. We were in trespasses and sins. We were spiritually dead, unable to move on our own. We were driven by the course (age) of the world, slaves to our desires and to Satan. Therefore, we were deserving the wrath of God.

Secondly, but the God of grace gave us life. He sent His Son to save us from perishing. Jesus was judged in our place, crucified, and died. He rose again on the third day. He made it possible for us to be saved if we believe in this Christ.

Thirdly, we have been made as the people who live in response to God's grace. Our wonderful Savior walks with us. It is about following the Lord. It is also important to testify of the gracious Lord.

We must not forget our former selves and God's grace. And let us walk in response to God's grace!

<The Word of the Bible>
4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
