Matthew 6: 33-34
January 4th 2026, First LORD’s Day of the Month
 Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor

During the service, we prayed for blessings for our brothers and sisters who turned age 20. Their lives ahead will bring both hope and anxiety. What should we focus on as we walk through our lives?

First, we must correctly determine “what we put first”. It is important where we set our priority. Our highest priority should be to seek God’s kingdom. This means surrendering our hearts to God, accepting His rule, and following His Word. At the same time, we must seek God’s righteousness. That is, having a right relationship with God. This will develop and lead to build right relationships with our neighbors. With the love we have received from the Lord, let us walk in a way that puts love into practice.

Second, we must trust in the Lord who provides us what we need, and cherish each day. Sometimes we become so focused on the needs of life that we put things with God behind, which should come first. But when we put the Lord first, we can trust that the things we need will be added to us, and we can entrust ourselves to Him. This year may be hectic, with many things to do, but let us seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and walk in the peace of the Lord!

<The Word of the Bible>
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33 (English Standard Version)
