1 John 4: 9-10
December 21st 2025, Third Lord’s Day of the Month
Rev. Tadashi Nagae, Pastor
I believe Christmas is a joyful and heartwarming time for many. Yet when we read the Bible, we can see it was a day when amazing things took place.
First, God loved me, though I was unworthy. It was not that we loved God, but God loved me - a sinner unworthy of love. God sees us as precious and valuable.
Second, God loved us not with emotion, but through sacrifice. For sins to be forgiven, blood had to be shed. In the Old Testament era, animal sacrifices were made and blood was shed. Jesus came as a human/flesh to become an atoning sacrifice for us.
Third, God wants us to live in new life. Those not yet saved should receive this life. Christians should be in close fellowship with God, living with gratitude and joy. We should also share love with others.
Christmas was a day of wonder when God did the impossible with love. Let this Christmas be the one when we respond to that love!
<The Word of the Bible>
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
